General

• Elevated light fixtures are installed by means of a pedestal, a base plate or a conduit elbow
• Base plate mounted directly onto the pavement or onto a FAA L-867 deep base
• Isolating transformer located beneath the light fixture
• Pedestal with breakable coupling is screwed into tapped hole of base plate or conduit elbow
• Light fixture is mounted onto the pedestal

• 2"/11.5 NPS thread. Other threads available on request
• Painted in RAL 1003 aviation yellow
• Directly mounted onto pavement or FAA L-867 deep base
• Including flat gaskets and retainer for FAA L-823 Style 8 receptacle

Frangible non adjustable pedestal STF-N30

Adjustable pedestal with frangible coupling STR-N30

• Adjustable pedestal 360° horizontal and 0-10° vertical
• Suitable for uni- and bidirectional elevated light fixtures
• Pedestals can easily be mounted onto most known frangible approach masts
• 2"/11.5 NPS thread. Other threads available on request

Adjustment tool for STR-N30 pedestal

• All STR-N30 pedestals must be oriented and aimed with an adjustment jig to ensure ICAO compliance of light beam direction and light characteristics
• Original ERNI adjustment jig is available for easy aiming

Extended pedestals

• STF-N30 and STR-N30 pedestals are available with extensions upto a height of 750 mm
• For heights above 750 mm, intermediate SPX extension tubes are required
• Extended pedestals upto 750 mm are supplied as an assembly (STF-SPX or STR-SPX)

SPX pedestal extensions

• Upto 1.8 meters from ground level, aluminium SPX pedestal extension fixed in a breakable coupling is available
• Breakable coupling itself is screwed into a standard base plate
• For installation heights above 1.8 meters elevated light fixtures have to be mounted onto frangible safety approach masts
• ERNI light fixtures can be mounted onto all known safety approach masts by using an interface which allows fixation of STR-N30 and STF-N30 pedestal
• Options for SPX pedestal:
  • Supply with a secondary extension cable
  • Cable will be made in accordance with the height of the pedestal extension
  • Equipped with FAA L-823 Style receptacle and FAA L-823 Style plug for easy connection of transformer secondary cable with the light fixture

Installation Elevated lights

• Light fixture is mounted onto the base using a base plate and pedestal
• L-867 deep bases are not designed to withstand overrolling traffic and can only be used at the edge of traffic areas

Installation Inset Lights

• Installation into paved surfaces
• L-868 deep base is required as they are exposed to loads from overrolling vehicles and aircrafts
• Options:
  • Customer specific requirements including earthing capability 
  • Deep base can also be used as transformer housing for certain applications
  • Use of blind aluminium covers for a durable installation is mandatory not only in areas with overrolling traffic but also to prevent entrance of water and dust

Accessories Deep Base

• Extensions, flanges, spacer-rings and conversion rings have to be ordered separately
• Standard FAA L-867 deep bases will be delivered with plywood covers
• Wooden covers for all types of deep bases for temporary installations
• Aluminium or steel covers for durable installation in areas with overrolling traffic
