Big Mill TimberJig
The TimberJig is a patented hand-held sawmill of top quality. A versatile
friend in your lumber project!
Components: Big Mill TimberJig
Log Diameter: Max. 60 cm (24")
The Logosol Timberjig turns your chainsaw into a portable sawmill!
Have you ever dreamed of being able to cut your own lumber, but not have the
land or resources to do it? This little mill can have you cutting lumber quickly
and simply. Like all Logosol products, this device features simplistic, rugged,
and quality design.
First advantage is that it attaches to the same two bolts that hold the chain
bar to the saw. No need to drill holes for the mill in the bar!
Second advantage is that in the box with the TimberJig, there are angle
brackets and screws to build a straight wooden guide rail. This rail is only
used for the first two cuts, to provide a flat surface.
From then on, the TimberJig rests on the adjustable guide fence that sets the
thickness of the board.
For smaller logs, we recommend that you position the log in waist height to
have a good operating position.
The TimberJig is a fully equipped hand-held sawmill with the option to
upgrade!
A superior tool for milling lumber directly in the forest that offers the
operator an abundance of upgrade possibilities.
We provide you with the major components and the sawmill plan needed to build
your own home made sawmill. Before you begin sawing, you must build your own
sawmill components in wood, namely the guide rail and the rail supports.
Everything you will need to assemble the guide rail and rail supports is
included in the TimberJig kit.
When we designed the TimberJig we decided to make it in aluminum and steel.
The steel parts are treated with nitrous oxide during production. Steel that has
been treated this way acquires a black color, offers increased
corrosion-resistance, and becomes more durable and resistant to wear and tear.
When compared to typical zinc plating, this process is more expensive, but we
feel the resulting quality is both seen and felt.
The anodized aluminum, which possesses high durability and corrosion
resistance, is used for the scale bail that fills the function of both handle
and thickness scale.
Worth Knowing about the Big Mill System
- Cut as short logs as possible, and you will get better precision
and the work will be easier. The aluminium guide rails can be fitted
together and extended when required. They are available in the
length of 0.5 m (1.6 ft), 1 m (3.3 ft) and 2.75 m (9 ft).
- When the guide rail is over 4 m (13 ft) long, a guide rail prop
should be fitted at the middle of the log; when it is over 7 m (22
ft) long, two guide rail props should be used.
- If you want to upgrade your sawing, the TimberJig and guide rails
of Big Mill System are compatible with the Logosol Sawmill and
Woodworker’s Mill.
- The packages are composed to give you what you need, but all
components in the system can also be ordered separately.
- More information about all the possibilities, components and
accessories of the system, are described in the manual.
- We can provide you with a chainsaw, guide bar, and chains that are
suited for sawing logs, but you can just as well use standard
equipment if you already have a chainsaw with two bar bolts.
- Sawing is great fun! The feeling when holding your first board is
hard to beat.

Big Mill Basic
Complete Sawmill at the best price!
Components: Big Mill TimberJig, Guide rail supports, Guide
rail 2.75 m (9 ft).
Log Diameter: Max. 80 cm (32").
For higher precision and flexibility when choosing how to cut the log.
With the TimberJig with guide rail, you get both the advantages of a hand
held sawmill and of a frame-mounted sawmill. This combination of TimberJig and
M8 technology gives you the opportunity to make a high production sawmill at a
very affordable price.
Logosol introduces our new system of sawing based on the TimberJig. We are
offering a complete kit that contains brackets, clamp-irons, guide rail,
angles and other accessories and a plan how to build you own sawmill.
The sawmill consists of three parts
- The TimberJig: A proven hand held sawmill, sold in
thousands of units world wide
- The guide rail: Using the classic M8 guide rail with a
specially designed height and angle adjusting clamp to provide a straight and
steady guide for the saw.
- Guide rail supports: Made of steel that can be set at 90
degree angles in four exact positions, enabling you to cut right-angled
surfaces.
Two way operation
The TimberJig with guide rail can be used for sawmilling in different ways.
Here are the two most common:
Sawmill plan A) Build a wooden log table
You build in wood a log table, a steady base to attach the guide rail to.
Then you roll the log up on the table and work in comfortable height. This is
how we prefer to do it!
Sawmill plan B) Use it directly on a log
If the log is heavy or difficult to transport, you can attach the guide
rail directly to the ends of the log. Then you can easily adjust the height of
the guide rail (and the cut), to produce lumber of your choice.
Combined advantages
Advantages of a hand held sawmill
1) Light weight
2) Extremely portable - fits in the back of your trunk
3) Cost-effective - the chainsaw is the biggest expense
4) Flexible - cuts almost everything
Advantages of a frame-mounted sawmill
1) Good measurements - due to a straight guide rail and solid foundation
2) Easy operation - ergonomic working conditions, log on a steady table
3) High production - an organized work place gives higher output
4) Surface quality - the steady rail give a smooth sawn surface. With the
Timberjig with guide rail, you get all the advantages!

Big Mill LSG
Two conjoined Timberjigs. Perfect for slicing up large logs.
Components: 2 TimberJigs, 1 LSG kit with bar nose
steering.
Log Diameter: Max. 135 cm (53")
This is how you do it: First, you fit something straight
onto the log, e.g. a ladder or a wooden constuction. This will guide the first
cut. Then you take the next cut, letting the saw be guided by the sawn surface
of the first cut, almost like a cheese slicer. Maximum depth of the cuts is 20
cm (8"). You can either cut wide, rough-edged boards, or saw beams that
are then cut into ordinary edged planks and boards, using one of the
TimberJigs. Provided that the first cut is perfect, the LSG cuts large logs
with very high precision. With a 90 cm (35") long guide bar, you can take
75 cm (30") wide cuts.

Big
Mill Pro
Cut valuable oversized logs professionally.
Components: 1 Big Mill Basic, 1 extra TimberJig, 1 extra
guide rail 2.75 m (9 ft), 1 LSG kit, 2 EXT Arms 90 cm (36") or 120 cm
(47"), 2 EXT Fixing Plates, 1 Rack & T-bar kit.
Log Diameter: 135 cm (53"), with guide rail steering
105 cm (41").
With Big Mill Pro you can cut logs with very high precision. You can
take wide, millimeter accurate cuts through the whole length of the log. The
system includes a Big Mill LSG with its two TimberJigs, the mounts from Big Mill
Basic, extended arms that hold the two guide rails on either side of the log,
and two extra, sturdier fixing plates for the log ends.
Due to the guide rails, you can easily take perfectly guided cuts all the way
down to the center of the log. After that, you can use the LSG without guide
rails, since you then have a wide and perfectly plane surface that guides the
cut. You can also continue to use the guide rails if you rotate the log half a
turn and cut it from the other direction. The guide rails can be rotated around
the log in fixed 90 degree steps. Raising and lowering is also done in fixed,
accurate steps. This enables you to saw edged boards, if desired. The double
guide rails can also be fitted together so that you can cut twice the length
with the Timberjig. In brief, almost everything is possible with the PRO
package.
When placing your order, state which guide bar length you are going to use on
your LSG, 90 cm (36") or 120 cm (47"), in order to get the
correct length on the arms for the guide rails.
